Sunday Christian Education Classes (January 4 - February 28)
Adult and youth classes meet in the Life Center and children’s classes meet in the Children’s Center. Class times, locations, and descriptions are noted below. You are always welcome to visit a class at any time!
NURSERY
Nursery care is available at 9:00 & 10:30am for ages birth - 3 years old.
CHILDREN CLASSES - 9:00AM
PreK – God Loves Me! (Room 5)
The Bible is a story of God’s redeeming love! Our PreK children will hear this story loud and clear as we show and tell them about the love of Jesus. Children will also begin to learn a few catechism questions.
Kinder - 2nd Grade – Loving Jesus - 9:00am (Room 3)
We love because he first loved us! Through stories from the Gospels, children will learn about God’s good plan of salvation for his people and how we respond to his grace with love for him and others.
3rd - 5th Grade – Listening to Jesus- 9:00am (Room 6)
Who is Jesus? Jesus is the Savior, promised King, and Lord of everything. Studying the Gospels together, we will learn to listen to what Jesus teaches us about himself, the hope he offers, and how to follow him. Together we will grow in our love for Jesus as we listen to him.
All Kinder-Grade 5 will meet together in Room 6 each week for a brief time of or welcome, worship, and catechism at 9:00am before joining their age specific class. Parents can pick up their children in their assigned rooms at 10:00am.
YOUTH CLASS - 9:00AM
6th - 12th Grade – Galatians (Room 102)
God's grace is sufficient! Galatians shows us that no amount of good works, rule following, or legalism will save us or make God love us more. The gospel saves us, sets us free, and transforms us. Students are constantly bombarded by ideologies claiming to tell the truth about the world. Paul argues that the central truth about the world is the gospel.
ADULT CLASS - 9:00AM
*The Nicene Creed (Room 200)
For centuries, Christians have clearly confessed their faith with the words of the Nicene Creed. This creed offers beautifully expressed theological precision. But it’s easy to recite familiar words without actually considering their historical significance or rich theological benefit. We will examine the truths Niece affirms, and consider the errors it rejects. Together we will grow in our confidence in God’s truth and the glory of his gospel.
ADULT CLASS - 10:30AM
*Mark (Room 200)
Who is Jesus? Mark’s face-paced gospel has this question at its center. Mark shows us that Jesus is the son of God, our savior! In light of this, Mark calls us to be his disciples, gladly following him in every area of our lives. Focusing on Mark 1-10, we’ll look closely at the life and teaching of Jesus, seeing the glory and grace of our savior.
*This class fulfills some of the prerequisites for church officer (elder or deacon) training.
