Most of us are a bit worn out or frazzled this time of year. Next week we begin a 4-part Advent Sermon Series, The Weary World Rejoices, that we hope will be a balm for your soul. Whatever has you unsettled or exhausted, the good news is we can still rejoice, not ignoring our circumstances, but in the midst of them. We rejoice because Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem and that our King is coming again. Christmas is our celebration that all will be well as we long for good and better days. Christmas is about still believing, still being hopeful and remembering these are “light and momentary afflictions” in contrast to “an eternal weight of glory” (2 Corinthians 4:17).
